QUIENES SOMOS/About us
LAS COLIBRÍ or “The Hummingbirds,” have
a passion for music, beauty, and girl power.
These women are flying into new territory as one of the
most unique ensembles of its genre by returning to the
all-string instrumentation of the early 20th century
mariachi tradition and the colorful, feminine costumes
of the Mexican cinematic divas of the 40s and 50s.
After years of achieving much success individually as
instrumentalists and vocalists in various professional
arenas, these women have come together with their
lovely blend of vocal harmonies, unique arrangements,
and interpretation of traditional songs, huapangos,
rancheras with a contemporary twist.

Mariachi Las Colibrí will travel 130 miles. City: Bell, Beverly
Hills, Burbank, Culver City, Downey, Glendale, Hollywood,
Huntington Pk, Inglewood, Lynwood, Maywood, Montebello,
Monterey Park, North Hollywood. Pasadena, Rosemead,
South Gate, San Gabriel, San Marino, Universal City.

In 1991, Susie Garcia made her first
appearance at the Hollywood Bowl for a
“Tribute to Women in Mariachi.” Susie
returned to the Hollywood bowl three more
times as a member of Mariachi Las Adelitas
(1997) as well as Mariachi Las Alondras
(1998, 1999). In 1999, Susie helped pioneer
one of the first modern all-female run and
directed mariachi bands in Los Angeles by
the name of Mariachi Divas. During her 9-
year stint with the Divas, Susie performed
at countless concerts and music festivals
and received her first Grammy award. She
started Las Colibri in 2009 and has since led
the group to become one of the premiere
female mariachi ensembles in Los Angeles.

Price Range $400 to $720
Approximately:
Depending on which day of the week and event location,
all-female mariachi bands have slightly higher rates than
their counterparts ... but they are well worth the added
expense.
Weekdays with 4 girls average $400-440 per w/2 hr. min
Additional $100 per girl per hour for anything above
the initial 4, up to 8 girls (eg. $660/hr for 6 girls).
Saturday rates may be as high as $600 per hr / 5 girls,
and $720 per hour for 6 girls.
On some days trio bands may be available. (rate ?)
Fridays and Saturdays between the hours of 4 to 8 pm
there’s a 2 hour minimum with 6 girls. If you cannot meet
the 2 hour minimum, they offer a special 1 hour rate of
$500 for a single hour with 4 girls, and $120 for each
additional girl hour.
There is an additional fee if your event is over 30 miles
from center point Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights, LA.
